How about '/etc/default/dump' (already used by SYSV & SCO?).

(from /etc/default/su):

#ident  "@(#)ATTDSG gencpu/gensys/cmd/su/su.dfl 1.1.1.1"
SULOG=/var/adm/sulog
CONSOLE=/dev/console
PATH=/usr/bin
SUPATH=/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/etc
