Just for the records, this is not the case on my mirror:

atleo5:/leo/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386#l packages-4-stable 
lrwxrwxr-x  1 ftpadmin  ftpadmin  20 Jan 29 11:58 packages-4-stable@ -> packages-4.5-release

Maybe it will separate during the further development of
4.5-STABLE, I didn't pay attention to that under 4.4-STABLE,
but just right now, it seems just a symlink.

I agree it's still inconsistent to the alpha, where the 
real directory is packages-4-stable and packages-4.5-release 
the symlink, i.e. the other way round.
