Thanks to those with advice yesterday. I went into bios settings, and found that I could only assign sio0 and sio1 to irq's 3 or 4. Since my rtl is irrevocably at irq 3, I put both sio0 and 1 at irq 4. Just to see. Didn't work; below is my dmesg. Am contmeplating buying a different NIC. Thanks in advance, Joyeux Noel.
