FreeBSD> FreeBSD> thanks FreeBSD> FreeBSD> Rick Hi Rick, What would be the point of hiding the processes in a situation where one user cannot manipuate another user's processes? In FreeBSD, I think only users with root privileges can manipulate other users processes. To just hide systems processes, you could use some sysctl(8) variables, which you can put in /etc/sysctl.conf. A good start is sysctl -w kern.ps_showallprocs=0 man sysctl -Wash -- Odhiambo Washington Wananchi Online Ltd., wash@wananchi.com 1st Flr Loita Hse Tel: 254 2 313985 Loita Street., Fax: 254 2 313922 PO Box 10286, 00100-NAIROBI,KE. Any dramatic series the producers want us to take seriously as a representation of contemporary reality cannot be taken seriously as a representation of anything -- except a show to be ignored by anyone capable of sitting upright in a chair and chewing gum simultaneously. -- Richard Schickel [-- Attachment #2 --] -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.4 (FreeBSD) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE7BRDYn7LIsuxjem8RAh1ZAKCDUj1llnb8FQ0bOO4jQ1ElAYksUwCgq72y UtK4RkdLzaeRbkmCOnLO1eE= =tTsT -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
