In addition, as you've noticed, only one version of some software, such as tcl and tk. They do that because, as you correctly note, you can only install one version. FreeBSD requires a little more thought, because there's just so much stuff. The 2.2.7 CD-ROMs contain about 1.5 GB of installable packages. Obviously most people don't want to install them all. It's relatively easy to install them, though: the program pkg_add will install any number of packages for you. > Thanks for any help! Back the first system up to tape, omitting the file /usr/lib/libc.so.3.1. Do a minimal installation on the other systems, don't configure, and restore the tape image.
