Umm, the dmesg information he sent me has it "wdc1: ..." and "wcd0: ...", which given the fact that he has two controllers and the cdrom is on the second one makes perfect sense. The cdrom _is_ /dev/wcd0. His original bug report had an unfortunate typo which has confused matters. -DG
