the .pdf files generated by our toolchain are broken at the moment.

I just generated a pdf version by hand, which you can fetch at
http://people.freebsd.org/~brueffer/handbook.pdf

You can download the FreeBSD documentation in other formats and
languages at ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/doc/ .
