Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Date: Tue, 17 Jun 1997 20:42:11 +0200 From: Mark Murray Sender: owner-freebsd-scsi@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Hi I have a really recent 3.0 system running on a Brand-New GA586DX Motherboard. This board includes an adaptec 7880 chip, and I have a NEC CDROM drive on this SCSI bus - it probes so: cd0 at scbus0 target 6 lun 0 cd0: type 5 removable SCSI 2 There are no SCSI conflicts. I get the following errors when I try to play audio CDs on it: cd0: SCB 0x0 - timed out in command phase, SCSISIGI == 0x84 SEQADDR = 0x42 SCSISEQ = 0x12 SSTAT0 = 0x7 SSTAT1 = 0x2 cd0: abort message in message buffer cd0: SCB 0x0 - timed out in command phase, SCSISIGI == 0x94 SEQADDR = 0x42 SCSISEQ = 0x12 SSTAT0 = 0x7 SSTAT1 = 0x2 ahc0: Issued Channel A Bus Reset. 2 SCBs aborted Clearing bus reset Clearing 'in-reset' flag cd0: no longer in timeout cd0: UNIT ATTENTION asc:29,0 cd0: Power on, rese sd0: UNIT ATTENTION asc:29,0 sd0: Power on, reset, or bus device reset occurred , retries:3 t, or bus device reset occurred Notice that the errors (Quoted verbatim) are kinda screwed up. The CD plays, but will stop after a random interval (3secs - 3mins?) The drive works with no problems whatsoever if I mount a CD9660 cd on it. Any ideas?
