With the patch at https://reviews.freebsd.org/D14347 I can build net/samba47 reliably with all cores running full out on a zero loaded machine, or a machine that is maxed out with other processes and pressure on RAM. I think there were other unrelated things going on with the platform that seem to be now all resolved for me https://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-stable/2018-February/088383.html CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor (3194.07-MHz K8-class = CPU) Origin=3D"AuthenticAMD" Id=3D0x800f11 Family=3D0x17 Model=3D0x1 Stepp= ing=3D1 =20 Features=3D0x178bfbff =20 Features2=3D0x7ed8320b AMD Features=3D0x2e500800 AMD Features2=3D0x35c233ff Structured Extended Features=3D0x209c01a9 XSAVE Features=3D0xf AMD Extended Feature Extensions ID EBX=3D0x7 SVM: NP,NRIP,VClean,AFlush,DAssist,NAsids=3D32768 TSC: P-state invariant, performance statistics real memory =3D 34359738368 (32768 MB) avail memory =3D 33246248960 (31706 MB) Event timer "LAPIC" quality 100 ACPI APIC Table: FreeBSD/SMP: Multiprocessor System Detected: 12 CPUs FreeBSD/SMP: 1 package(s) x 6 core(s) x 2 hardware threads random: unblocking device.
