It looks like that the OpenJDK PPC64 BSD port effort/discussions upstream g= ot stuck as per bsd port ML [0] (looks only a bunch of advertisement for last non-related pushes to jdk8u) and from what I remember from the last discuss= ions more than a year ago on ppc-aix-port ML [1].
