If your ISP uses PPP (probably PPP over Ethernet), then see the the FreeBSD Handbook section titled "Using PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)". http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/pppoe.html If the ISP doesn't use PPP, then you won't use it either.
