Rather, the variable GNU_CONFIGURE_MANPREFIX exists and also replaces
/usr/local/man when --mandir can be used for ./configure.

If this part of the operation is eliminated, I think almost all ports will
install manpage in /usr/local/share/man, but the scope of impact is likely =
to
be large.
