Rebuilding from the same sources with SMP and APIO commented out, and the kernel works just fine. All console output appears, ssh/xterm combo works fine. Reboot with SMP kernel, and it wigs out again. One other thing I noticed, is that when booting the SMP kernel, the reboot command fails. It works in that my IP connection disappears, but the machine never restarts. In UNI mode, it works fine.
