 I think, you need to install some old libs (at least libc.so.3 and
libxpg4.so.2) from /usr/src/lib/compat/compat3x.i386 to use jdk1.1.8.

See the output from the command 
 ldd /usr/local/jdk1.1.8/bin/i386/green_threads/java
