I think I have the same chipset. THe relevant dmesg stuff:

chip0: <Intel 82439> rev 0x02 on pci0.0.0
chip1: <Intel 82371SB PCI to ISA bridge> rev 0x01 on pci0.7.0
ide_pci0: <Intel PIIX3 Bus-master IDE controller> rev 0x00 on pci0.7.1
ide_pci: warning, ide0:0 not configured for DMA?
ide_pci: warning, ide0:1 not configured for DMA?
ide_pci: warning, ide1:0 not configured for DMA?
ide_pci: warning, ide1:1 not configured for DMA?
vga0: <VGA-compatible display device> rev 0x53 int a irq 19 on pci0.17.0
bktr0: <BrookTree 848> rev 0x11 int a irq 18 on pci0.18.0
Hauppauge WinCast/TV, Philips NTSC tuner.

THe only problems I have is that I can only get certain channels. I have
a S3 Trio64V+ video card, 2MB RAM.
