5.x(any version) has never worked on my mitac 8080 I've tried booting with and without acpi and even in safe mode, still no luck. I've tried every release version and many different snapshots of -CURRENT, including one a few days ago. if I boot verbose I get the following $PIR: 0:2 INTA routed to irq 10 found-> vendor=0x8086, dev=0x3582, revid=0x02 bus=0, slot=2, func=0 class=03-00-00, hdrtype=0x00, mfdev=1 cmdreg=0x0007, statreg=0x0090, cachelnsz=0 (dwords) lattimer=0x00 (0 ns), mingnt=0x00 (0ns), maxlat=0x00 (0 ns) intpin=a, irq=10 powerspec 1 supports D0 D1 D3 current D0 map[10]: type 3, range 32, base 00000000, size 27, memory disabled at this point I'm at a hard lock. The laptop does not have a serial port but I've heard I may be able to remotely debug it with the firewire port. Could anyone provide any information on this including what type of cable/hardware I would need for this? -- David W.
