I wanted to install FBSD on a old laptop that doesn't have a bootable cdrom, that's why I wanted to install thru FTP. Currently I'm using an Ethernet ADSL modem to connect to internet from my desktop running Win98. I'm using a cross-over cable to connect the network card (my desktop) to the Ethernet ADSL modem, and it works. I'm using WinPoET to make connection to the internet. During the FBSD installation, the network card is detected, but it can't seem to connect to the ADSL modem at all, so the FTP installation can't even start. My ISP provider uses DHCP, but no DHCP servers could be found. What should I do ? Please advise. Thank you very much...
