The bug seemed to be caused because ~/.cshrc overrode $PATH when I entered gnome-terminal.
After commenting the setenv line in ~/.cshrc, executing "echo $PATH" displayed $PATH set by /etc/login.conf.

The bug didn't exist. My apology.
