The TERM environment variable is set to cons25 in FreeBSD. When I telnet to my IRIX system at the university, it doesn't recognize cons25. So I set the TERM environment variable on the IRIX system to vt100. But when I run a program such as irc on the IRIX system, the screen doesn't scroll.
