<snicker>  Sure, why not?
Seriously, it's usually on ebay for under 20 dollars, and I'd have to argue 
the fact that it's not useful for 4.x---for a total newbie, things might be 
confusing as some things mentioned might be in different places, but still 
the book is often the first place to start.

There are also errata published monthly (at least) on freebsd-questions.
