I thought it had been proven that you could not maintain your ability and self control sufficiently intact during the process of learning C to prevent you from swearing and cursing afterwards... Seriously if my kids tell me they have learned how to swear by reading anything one tenth the level of the FreeBSD kernel, I would encourage them to continue full speed. It sure beats watching television when it comes to developing your brain...
