Ic, I could map Z-axis to 6+7 when I used it with the PS/2 adaptor but not =
on=20
8+9.

cale:~# moused -f -d -p /dev/ums0 -t intellimouse -I /var/run/moused.ums0
moused: mouse type mismatch (mousesystems !=3D intellimouse), mousesystems =
is=20
assumed
moused: proto params: f8 80 00 00 5 00 ff
moused: port: /dev/ums0 interface: usb type: mousesystems model: generic
moused: unable to get status of mouse fd: Inappropriate ioctl for device

cale:~# moused -f -d -p /dev/ums0 -t auto -I /var/run/moused.ums0
moused: proto params: f8 80 00 00 8 00 ff
moused: port: /dev/ums0 interface: usb type: sysmouse model: generic
ums0: Microsoft Microsoft IntelliMouse=AE Explorer, rev 2.00/4.19, addr 4,=
=20
iclass 3/1
ums0: 5 buttons

When I change to my old Explorer Intellimouse here's what kernel says:

ums0: at uhub2 port 2 (addr 4) disconnected
ums0: detached
ums0: Microsoft Microsoft IntelliMouse=AE Explorer, rev 1.10/1.14, addr 4,=
=20
iclass 3/1
ums0: 5 buttons and Z dir.

Anyway, I have to return this mouse today. The optical unit is really the b=
est=20
I've ever seen, but that new 4-way scroll wheel is a joke. Scrolling doesn'=
t=20
work if the mouse is moving. I ferified that under Windows too. When somebo=
dy=20
turns the scroll wheel the mouse alwas is moved a little bit which results =
in=20
scroll interrupts and really feels strange.

Save your money and avoid IntelliMouse Explorer Platinum!
