After 5 years of professional MS Windows experience, I have come to the
conclusion that Windows 95/98 cannot handle any hard drive properly.

Your question can best be answered by referring to the MS Windows manuals,
literature, web sites (www.windows.com, www.microsoft.com, etc.) and
newsgroups rather than posting Windows questions to an UNIX list.

It only makes sense to ask Windows questions of Windows resources.
