And yet another people do NFS mount the directory from their local ftp
mirror to their own machines.  In this case, changing directory to
symlink makes some troubles.

If packages-4-stable becomes symlink (and don't turn back to
directory) for now, that's OK.  But symlink -> directory -> symlink ->
directory -> ... never ending transition is unwelcome.
