I look at the pcic problems as a definite show-stopper for a -RELEASE.. having only one slot working is minor and can be worked around (by most people) during install by just using the other slot.. having the system freeze up solid after half an hour to an hour however is really bad.. in most cases, this isn't enough time to complete an install.
