Through all version of FreeBSD I've tried on my Inspiron 8200, snd_ich has worked for me each time. Just 'kldload snd_ich' or put snd_ich_load="YES" in /boot/loader.conf. The only problem I have with that driver is only one program can access the sound card at a time, and I haven't found a way around that yet, if anyone has, please let me know :) -Mike Brown mwbrown@halfzero.net
