Thanks, I will give it a try!  On the stock driver, I see lots of

vr0: Using force reset command.
vr0: Using force reset command.
vr0: Using force reset command.
vr0: Using force reset command.

Its not a big deal if the host is constantly sending packets, but if 
something else is sending to it, sometimes the nic will be wedged 
until I initiate some traffic
