If you're interested in classification schemes in general, there's lots of literature knocking around ranging from the library science world to description logics. Perceived wisdom amongst "community builders" is that groups with a common goal or outlook will arrange classification schemes according to their preferences and needs; these may well be arranged with completely orthogonal principle axes depending on the need. While such a discussion might be "fun" (particularly since there's no One True Answer), it's likely to rathole.
