It's not the "short name".  It's the incorrect, wrong name which would apply 
to a dangerously dedicated disk but that the kernel never should have lied 
about and allowed to refer to a properly partitioned disk.  I'd prefer if 
all my disks were named "/dev/strawberry0a1b2c" followed by the letter of 
the slice, so should I ask for it to be so aliased?
