Hi folks, Firstly I'd like to say thanks for all previous responses to my CDRW Woes, however after still trying all suggestions I'm still receiving the following errors when writing either with the -m or fixate switches in test mode : [root@rancor iso]# burncd -t -f /dev/acd0c -m -s 1 data sparc64cd.iso acd0: READ_TOC - ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=24 ascq=00 error=00 next writeable LBA 0 writing from file sparc64cd.iso size 86720 KB Mar 15 14:12:01 rancor /kernel: acd0: READ_TOC - ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=24 ascq=00 error=00 Mar 15 14:12:01 rancor /kernel: acd0: READ_TOC - ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=24 ascq=00 error=00 written this track 86720 KB (100%) total 86720 KB [root@rancor iso]# burncd -t -f /dev/acd0c -s 6 data sparc64cd.iso fixate next writeable LBA 43512 writing from file sparc64cd.iso size 86720 KB written this track 86720 KB (100%) total 86720 KB fixating CD, please wait.. acd0: MODE_SELECT_BIG - ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=26 ascq=02 error=00 burncd: ioctl(CDRIOCCLOSEDISK): Input/output error [root@rancor iso]# Mar 15 14:24:01 rancor /kernel: acd0: MODE_SELECT_BIG - ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=26 ascq=02 error=00 Mar 15 14:24:01 rancor /kernel: acd0: MODE_SELECT_BIG - ILLEGAL REQUEST asc=26 a scq=02 error=00 I do know that the Yahama CRW8824E writer that I'm using works, as it was running fine under Linux. I've taken the drive out and stuck it into another machine - of the same make, HP Brio - and same problems. I'm about to stick it into a completely different machine to see what happens. However if anybody has any futher suggestions, it would be great to hear them ...
