It looks like:

{
	device_t myparent, hisparent;
	u_int32_t data;

	myparent = device_get_parent(me);
	hisparent = device_get_parent(myparent);

	data = PCI_READ_CONFIG(hisparent, myparent, PCIR_DEVVENDOR, 4);

	switch (data) {
	case 0x12345678:
		something_special = 1;
		break;
	/* other cases */
	}
}

...is all you need for -current.
