I did exactly that with DOS already installed when I installed FreeBSD
on my machinq. Strangely enough, DOS didn't seem to mind at all!
Reads and writes under DOS with the now deactivated LBA mapping worked
just as they did before. And they didn't interfere with FreeBSD, and
vice versa.
I'm only guessing, but it might've been something to do with DOS
ending well below cyl 1024, but who knows?
