As objprelink porter/maintainer (+ help from will) I can tell you that
it's costs outway its benefits. The improvement in performance could
be described as minimal at best. It won't be used with KDE3 (its minor
speed boost becomes meaningless). I suggest just pulling it out of
your KDE build if it is causing you problems. Its not worth fighting
with it.
