I watched the make procs for awhile in top, and about every 30 seconds or so, one make process would show 'SELECT' momentarily, then go back to wait, using virtually no CPU, and I observed that behavior for 30 minutes before I got tired of it... -- Joshua Lokken Open Source Advocate
