Some ADSL modems expose some of their data over SNMP. Maybe yours too? > snmpget -v 1 -c hohoe1234 192.168.1.254 IF-MIB::ifSpeed.501 > IF-MIB::ifSpeed.501 = Gauge32: 18337000 My modem syncs at around 18 mbps of raw downstream.
