Thank you, I removed all inaplicable devices. It still dies at the same place, just with less verbosity. The entire output now fits on half the screen. Here it is in it's entererty:

avail memory = 667648 (652K bytes)
Probing for devices on the ISA bus:
sc0 at 0x60-0x6f irq 1 on motherboard
sc0: VGA color <4 virtual consoles, flags=0x0>
ed0 at 0x280-0x29f irq 10 on isa
fdc0 at 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2 on isa
fd0: 1.44MB 3.5in
wdc0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7 irq 14 on isa
wdc0: unit 0 (wd0): <ST3491A>
wd0: 408MB (836070 sectors), 899 cyls. 15 heads, 62 S/T, 512 B/S
npx0 flags 0x1 on motherboard
npx0: INT 16 interface
changing root device to fd0s4c
rootfs is 1440 Kbtye compiled in MFS

It hangs up here.

The first thing about this that seems odd to me is that both DOS and the power on self test report that this system has 4M of memory, not the 640K reported here.

Anyone have any more ideas for me?

Thank you very much,

       -EdK
