I've tried adjusting USES based on the Python version used (see bug 214853),
but I couldn't get that to work.

An option that should work would be to create a py3-matplotlib port that US=
ES
python:3+ and has the TKAGGBACKEND (on by default) option but not the
GTKBACKEND or GTKAGGBACKEND options.
I'm not sure about the QT?AGGBACKEND and  WXAGGBACKEND; I've never used the=
m.

Would that be an acceptable solution?
