Actually, what would be really nice is to have a port of EzPPP: http://www.serv.net/~cameron/ezppp/ This is a really nice Linux GUI (based on qt) PPP setup utility that does basically everything--sets up your chat script, manages your modem, configures the proper DNS entries, sets up the routing table properly, even does connection accounting and statistics. I would do it myself, but I'm not too knowledgable on the intricacies of serial I/O programming and Linux porting of same. (And yes, I tried the Linux binary; it does not work.)
