-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've just installed gnome-2.30 in my system and I see my actual desktop settings are causing my session to fail. What I see is my desktop's icons (which worked fine from ages, I'm keeping my settings from previous gnome releases) dissapearing and being redrawn over and over. I installed with no ports at all before installing gnome-2.30, this is because I tried the marcuscom version before and when I did installed from marcuscom repository I saw the same behaviour. I decided to use a blank new user and this behaviour dissapears. So then I decided to import the same set of icons that gives me headaches. That set fails. Going to gnome-look.org and picking a random and quite new set of icons (say, first of May) will cause this with a high probability (there are some that work). I see in my dmesg messages like this : swap_pager_getswapspace(3): failed pid 59579 (gtk-update-icon-cac), uid 0, was killed: out of swap space when the problem gets triggered. So I unpacked a problematic gnome icon set and cd'ed into the resulting directory, tried by hand : # gtk-update-icon-cache -f causing the problem to appear once again. So it appears the culprit could be gtk2.20. I can tell which icon sets I tried. My system is : FreeBSD gusiport 8.0-STABLE FreeBSD 8.0-STABLE #0: Sun May 9 07:09:12 CEST 2010 root@gusiport:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/CUSTOM amd64 Working with ZFS. Any idea ?
