I'm attempting to back up my home directory with dump, but I keep getting the same error: # /sbin/dump -0u -f /usr/home/dump /usr/home/cary DUMP: Date of this level 0 dump: Fri May 25 09:35:21 2001 DUMP: Date of last level 0 dump: the epoch DUMP: Dumping /usr/home/cary to /usr/home/dump DUMP: bad sblock magic number DUMP: The ENTIRE dump is aborted. # /usr/home/dump is a file (though I have also tried dumping to a dir). I was able to start dumping the / filesystem to standard output as a test, and it worked. But no matter what options I've tried, I get the same error as above. I've read the man page, but I don't know enough to know what applies and doesn't apply when dumping to a HD or filesystem rather than a tape drive. Any help that could be rendered would be appreciated. Thank you.
