 I have another suggestion.

 If we neglect interstellar travel time:

       there are <1000 billion stars in the milky way, assume each 
       has one inhabited planet with an average of 8M people, 
       each with 4 computers, so that means that 
         (2**43 planets)(2**33 people/planet)(2*2 computers per person) 
       means each person still has to do 2**235 compiles per "night"

       maybe we could ship them a new CD every night?
