Use your modem's AT commands to dial up. So to dial, type 'atdt 9999999' where 9999999 is the number for your ISP. After you CONNECT, you should see the normal login sequence for your ISP. Login as to start a PPP session. PPP will take over from there. If you don't know how to start a PPP session on your ISP's machine, ask them.
