Hi,

I have three machines, all running 4.2-RELEASE. Two are operating an NFS
clients, one as an NFS server. FTP runs on the NFS server, being used to
access home directories on the two NFS clients. The NFS partitions are
mounted with the following options:

rw,bg,intr,-d

From time to time, messages such as the following are logged on the NFS
server.

Aug 23 21:20:53 server5 /kernel: got bad cookie vp 0xd82a2bc0 bp
0xcc3f9d20
Aug 23 21:20:53 server5 /kernel: got bad cookie vp 0xd82a2bc0 bp
0xcc3e9678

At the same time an ftpd process begins to loop out consuming 100% CPU,
the ftpd process seems to be stuck in a LIST state. The ftpd process
cannot be killed, only a reboot of the NFS server will stop the ftpd
process.

I have believe that this is an NFS problem, however I have no idea as to
how to solve this. Any help or pointers would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks for your help in advance.

Regards,

Daniel Conlon
