If you try to patch after make configure (I think) you may be tricked into patching dynamically generated sources. Like Maxim said, we appreciate the bug reports, and we always try to be careful. Sometimes we miss things. There, after all, only two of us committing stuff, and we always try to be quick with these kind of fixes. Please bare with us.
