I ran the beta1 and beta2 for a while when I used Linux, and it was _much_ better than 4.2. Things to note as well: - -xfce4-iconbox no longer exists in 4.4; functionality was integrated into the taskbar, which is much better in this version. - -xfce4-systray no longer exists as well in 4.4; this was integrated into the taskbar as well I believe..
