Seems to be amd64-specific. I created a directory with 118 JPGs, 3 BMPs, and 1 MOV, and it pops up just fine. Can you find a pain-point which triggers the crash? That is, does a directory with just JPGs cause the crash, or is it when you start to mix other image formats?
