I worked with Doug Rabson to re-do a lot of the mount_nfs code to use nmount(), and this UDP/TCP thing for the RPC transport slipped through. There is no good reason for keeping things the way they are. Thanks for all your work beating the FreeBSD NFS implementation into shape!
