The DEC3000 series of machine will only work in a diskless configuration because their disk controller is currently unsupported. If you want a machine that "just works", my advice is to run NetBSD on the 3000 family of systems. However, if you're interested in contributing to the FreeBSD/alpha project you could port the esp driver to CAM or, (better still) write a turbochannel front-end for the already CAM amd SCSI driver (/sys/pci/amd.c) Cheers, Drew ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Andrew Gallatin, Sr Systems Programmer http://www.cs.duke.edu/~gallatin Duke University Email: gallatin@cs.duke.edu Department of Computer Science Phone: (919) 660-6590 To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-alpha" in the body of the message
