These mean that your system is losing interrupts from the harddisk.  Having
seen these symptoms described just recently, I'm curious to know whether
you're using a Packard Bell system?

If you can't resolve this problem by tinkering with your motherboard 
setup, you won't be able to use FreeBSD on your hardware.  It's showing
symptoms of being badly broken.

If you're using a PPP connection, you'll have to swap over to vty2 (ALT-F3)
and interact with the PPP program in order to dial.  The installation
guide has details on doing this.  If you're using a SLIP connection, you
should establish it before starting the installation.
