My FreeBSD desktop/workstation is running it well but it does not have limited resource requirements (i7-750, 8G of RAM, Radeon HD 4650). Since Amarok and K3B outgrew their KDE3 dependencies, I've managed to keep my system KDE3/QT3-free for a while now, though that wasn't always easy in the past. The only real hiccup I've had was the recent KDE4 bump that made me have to reconfigure some things, but it ended up working better than ever in the end. The only current complaint I have is about the atrocities they have committed to KMail. Resource usage and philosophical reasons aside, some people who have been burned by KDE4 in the past may want to revisit it now, it's matured a lot from its early days. Personally I won't miss KDE3 at all, and I really haven't missed it for several years now. Jim
